Timeline for selection of host cities for 2026 World Cup

FIFA has provided the 23 candidate host cities with more information about the timeline and deadlines as part of the selection process.

From February 2021, the Football Association will hold virtual ééone-to-é One talks with the stadiums to discuss the infrastructure surrounding the football tournament in 2026.

From April 2021, FIFA will hold consultations with the various candidate cities for the 2026 World Cup. In July 2021, FIFA will visit all host cities in America, Canada and Mexico.

The final host cities are planned to be announced at the end of 2021. This involves looking at the infrastructure and services. Cities must commercially get the most out of this global football event, also in terms of sustainability and human rights.
