FIFA has visited and assessed 9 cities for 2026 World Cup
On September 23, 2021, the first round of visits to the 2026 World Cup host cities ended. A delegation from FIFA, led by V. Montagliani, visited nine cities in the US.
Boston, Nashville, Atlanta , Orlando, Washington DC, Baltimore, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia and Miami were visited. Various meetings were held with city councils, stadium management, football clubs, sponsors and other stakeholders.
According to Mr. Montagliani, the World Cup in 2026 is a major milestone in the history of football, and the host cities there are completely aware of. He thanks each city for the work, dedication and passion for the World Championship.
The other host cities in the US, Mexico and Canada will be visited in November, after which a final selection will be made next year.
